Hi all. This is my first post but I'm afraid rather unexciting.
I've bought CC 10 'Scout' which I am thoroughly enjoying and keeping at Lake Yard in Poole. She's now out of the water and stripped down whilst I varnish the spars and make everything as I would like it for the coming season. There are two particular problems:
1. The deck fittings are held on with bolts through the fitting into brass interscrews in the cabin roof (see attached photos). Not sure if this is a standard thing or just early SA boats. Photo attached. Does anyone know where to buy new ones as a few have broken or lost their thread?
2. She has a leak, i believe through the waterstay fitting. I think that i may have winched her onto the trailer too vigorously and broken the seal around the fitting. Has anyone else had this problem and how have you fixed it?

Congratulation on your first post.
The "brass" interscrews you refer to are probably bronze, at least I hope they are. Brass should never be used in a marine environment, it corrodes.
Your best bet is probably to use the current Honnor Marine method of attaching deck fittings, i.e. stainless steel bolts with dome head SS nuts on the underside of the deck. Ideally you should employ large washers or a SS plate on the underside of the deck to spread the load. There are plenty of suppliers of SS fixings on-line, use Google to find them.
I do know of one boat that has had a leak through the bobstay (waterstay!) fitting, Adrian Langford with "Meisje". Send him an e-mail and ask him to reply on the forum. I will mention it to him next time I see him.

Just to follow up on the resolution for these two.
Leak - Fitting removed and reseated with Sikaflex 292 inside and out, all washers and nuts bedded into it. Access very difficult on the inside. The through hull holes were oversized so that once the sealant had failed on the outside there was nothing stopping the water coming in, so i squirted as much sealant as possible into the holes before sliding in the U bolt. Fingers crossed for when she goes back in the water.
Interscrews - decided to replace all of the bronze ones as a few had failed (snapped or lost thread) so thought that they had probably reached the end of their life. At great expense have ordered these nice interscrews http://www.interscrew.co.uk/socket-flat ... interscrew.
