After seventeen seasons of wonderful sailing in Mary Ann covering more that 5000 nautical miles I have hung up my sailing boots. I decided that sailing solo on a remote lake without any rescue service and no phone signal at my age was not the most sensible thing to be doing.
She has been bought by Tony Foster and now resides in Cornwall, having moved from the most northerly to the most southerly county in England. If Tony has half as much fun with her as I had, he will not be disappointed.
I am still webmaster for now, but that situation will have to change and I will be looking for a volunteer (or volunteers) to take on the various tasks involved.

Sad to see you go after being such a star feature of the forum and events but totally understand as I ponder how many more seasons I can cope with. Many thanks for all the wonderful contributions and upgrades posted to the forum. Happy days ashore. D

Re: New owner for Mary Ann
Thank you for the kind words Donald.
It was a difficult decision to make as I was still launching and recovering single handed as well as sailing with no difficulty. But it was a bit like deciding when to put a reef in the mainsail. You have to do it before you need it.
Fortunately, I have many other interests to which I can now dedicate more time, and I have friends with boats who will tolerate me on board occasionally.
I will continue to follow the adventures of others in their Cape Cutters on this forum etc. and I will remain as webmaster until a volunteer comes along.
