This video is the most useful and informative lesson in cleaning small outboard engine carburettors. You might find it helpful, I did.

My Yamaha 4 was stored for two years in very good condition. But not surprisingly failed to start. It's nearly always a dirty clogged carburettor. Of course they should be stored dry but do you remember to drain the float bowl before storage.
