Cushion fitting

Post by Julian Porter »

My seat cushions reduce in depth along the length. Which is supposed to be the deepest part? Under the cockpit or next to the sink? I took all the covers off this spring and have a suspicion I have made a mess of putting them back on. The sculpting of the foam looks like a DIY job so that could be wrong too. After an uncomfortable time sleeping on the rally I think there is a problem

No, they’re just not that good. I put the thickest part nearest the tap. I also put the backrest under the seat cushion to double up. I find the material twists around the cushion too. Not ideal.

I had a look with the covers off snd it’s clear that the thickest bit is supposed to be near the tap. The foam tapers under the cockpit to try to keep the berth level. I was sleeping on it round the wrong way just to make sure it was really uncomfortable, I might look for a memory foam topper.

I can recommend a duvalay, very comfy memory foam with duvet all in one
