any recommendations on sail loft, this would be main, jib and yankee
this would be Plymouth, Portsmouth or even Brittany
any guidelines re pricing for robust cruising and occasional racing (yes ... I know ... dream on)
feel free to question my sanity ...

Re: lusting after new set of sails ...
How old are your sails? Are they damaged/particularly worn? IMO the crispiness of the sails makes less difference than in a dinghy. The only sail I would consider replacing is my staysail. Is your boat Honnor or South African? I believe the sails for Honnor boats were Hyde or Jeckells (someone correct me if I’m wrong). Alternatively take the old sails to a local sailmaker to use as a pattern.

Re: lusting after new set of sails ...
As Charles says, Honnor Marine used Hyde for sails.
Last year I got confused when at the Boat Show and thought it was Jeckell - hence my Yankee is Jeckell but all other sails are Hyde. The material is identical (hence colour match is perfect), and they had the sail plans on their computer, so I assume any decent sail maker will also.
Gary and I got a Boat show deal plus a discount for ordering several sails between us so I’m not sure of the proper price. I think their list was about £450 for a Yankee
The quality is excellent. I visited their factory near the Norfolk Broads and they are good people to deal with.
But perhaps too far north for you. In which case Hyde’s would produce equally good sails of course and I believe they are IoW or near the Solent
I imagine Nick Scroggs at Cape Cutter Marine would prefer you to order via him - certainly worth getting a price.
All the best
Malcolm

Re: lusting after new set of sails ...
thanks folks
sail set is a bit sad after years of storage, good back up, may sell but will try them out first ...
boat is Honnor Marine No58, 95% refurbished 2017 by HonnorMarine, needs electrics, lights, and nav system [this winter's projects]
Jeckell are giving great advice, and options ... like the cut of their jib so to speak

Re: lusting after new set of sails ...
I have no particular recommendations, but point out my early Honnor Marine boat (67) came with North sails that I remain happy with. They are well used but holding up well.
Good luck anyway,
Chris

Our CC19 (SN 004) came with North sails.
I've bought a yankee and a staysail (hank on) from Jeckells . I think they've made good sails for a good price. Also postage and packing was reasonable (pre-Brexit of course
