Zephyr came with a NASA wind instrument. Since I trailer sail I find its not worth setting it up properly, so I've finally removed and sold it. I'm now wondering what to replace it with - Windex? Hawk? Bits of wool?
What do you have, and why?

I don’t like a Windex or a Hawk on a gaffer. Some weeks ago I made a burgee as described here. http://www.eventides.org.uk/burgee.htm
But I’m not sure if I’m going to use it. I’m happy with my “bits of wool”, actually I use ribbons of sailcloth tied to each of the port and starboard stays.
