Members Sailing in Irish Waters.

Post by Stephen Foyle »

Hello,

Am strongly hoping to buy a Cape Cutter later this year. Am based near Youghal in Ireland & would really appreciate a possible sail with a CC19 owner when back on the water this coming sailing season. Have no problem traveling to any part of the country.

I think my mind is made up as to the suitability of the boat but naturally would like to actually confirm this with a sail in one. Any tips or advise also gratefully received. Hoping there is an owner around who may be willing to help.

Can be reached by this forum or through e.mail by clicking on my name.

Many thanks,

Hi Stephen, happy to offer a test sail from Portsmouth once Aurora is back in the water. I suspect someone else may be able to offer a more convenient time/location....,

Hi Charles,

Thank you for your kind offer. Today , have just been offered a look/ trial in S.W. Ireland so am going with that. Am just about in a position to buy and looking forward to owning & sailing a Cape Cutter.Thank you also for your thoughts on rigging time.I think will be going for the mooring option.

Many thanks,

Stephen

Exciting news! We have a rally at Whitsun, on the East Coast. If you are able to make the trip, you’d learn a lot about rigging and launching. Many current owners came to previous rally’s before buying and soon after.

Arrived home, appropriately, on St. Patricks Day with a Cape Cutter in tow. Have taken ownership of Blue Moon from a lovely couple, Richard & Sue Foreman who have sailed her from Brittany & meticulously maintained her in what will be a hard act to follow. I feel privileged & excited to take her on from Richard and Sue and indebted to them for their help.

Once her mooring has been fully checked out, will be launching in local waters. Looking forward to many days sailing this season. Thank you to the many members who have offered their help & advice.
