if the gaff is up and under full main you have to add 0.7m.
I`ve checked this by fixing a thin rope to the gaff peak and to load the other end by a heavy bolt. After raising the full main I marked the area where the rope comes out of the water. Then I took a tape measure to measure the hole length and the result was 7.4m.

Hello Frank

Did you have your boom attached to the tabernacle gooseneck, or the (superior ;)) mast band gooseneck?
Cheers

Hi Dennis,

very good question!
7.4 m with attachment to the tabernacle gooseneck and +0.3m with mast band gooseneck.
But to be honest I would never check this by passing a bridge which have less then 8m.

Regards

Frank

PS: Dennis, did you post a travel report regarding your trip to the Netherlands this year here in the forum or elsewhere?

Hello Frank

Re the Netherlands report.

I offered to post it in July.

Russell suggested I wait until the (then imminent) Wordpress site was up and running.

I am still waiting :(.

Never mind, I am going again next year. Maybe I can post both reports at the same time .
Cheers
