Very good, but was the weather really that bad on Saturday? I won't bang on about how nice it was on Sunday. ;)

Here is a slightly different version.

Have been experimenting with HD, took over 6 hours to upload 6 mins of HD video to Youtube (I'd rather be sailing!).:(

Lovely vid David. Worth the effort to do justice to the weather (and the boats).
Mary Ann looks very well set up. Are you taking her out of the water during the winter?

I'm going to post some video myself soon- I think this has given me the inspiration I needed.

Hello Charles

I will be taking her out of the water tomorrow, and re-launching some time in March.

The water authority does allow boats to stay afloat durung the winter, but applies some strict requirements, which must be complied with. I do not consider it worth the bother.

The period ashore gives me time to carry out maintainance/modifications.

I look forward to seeing your videos. :)

PS who's David?
Cheers

Traditional Boat Festival, Holyhead 2012

Postby erbster » Sun Oct 28, 2012 11:37 am

Here is a short video I made of our trip to the Old Gaffers Association Traditional Boat Festival in Holyhead on the first weekend in September. It was great fun and we were made very welcome; the kids had a whale of a time. All for free (including free launch and pontoon berthing at Holyhead marina for the week). It would be nice to get a few of us there next year....

(Had a bit of a fight with iMovie- see if you can spot the mistakes it added for me....)

Hello Charles

I enjoyed that!

You seem to have some useful crew there .

It looked like an enjoyable event. I actually saw you en-route, I was travelling in the opposite direction on the A5 near Capel Currig at the time. If only the Welsh weather could be guaranteed :(

I will certainly give it some thought for next year. :)

I presume all that barrel distortion on the video is deliberate (for artistic effect), never seen so many bent masts and booms.
Cheers
