Falcon - the world's most widely travelled CC19

I said my final goodbyes to Falcon today after towing her the 250-odd miles to Southampton Docks :o She'll spend a few days with the shipping agents before boarding a container ship bound for Melbourne, Australia, reaching there before the end of May. I wonder how many other CC19s can claim to have travelled from South Africa to the UK, and then to the other side of the globe. I wish I was going with her :o
She's been bought by John Ingham of Homewood, Victoria. I'm sure he'll be along shortly to tell us his plans for her and I'm confident that he'll get a warm welcome from the CC19A members.
It's been an interesting and very enjoyable few weeks being involved in the planning since John's first contact with me in answer to my ad. on Apollo Duck. I know he's intending visiting the UK on holiday later this year and we hope to meet up for a pint or two and perhaps a sail on Kielder Water. Things like this do seem to confirm what a small planet we live on, and what a wondrous thing is the internet.
My driveway seems an awful lot bigger now and the Lune Whammel looks all forlorn and lonely  I'm sure we'll both cheer up once we're afloat.

That's one lucky boat getting to sail in warm waters rather in the cold Northern hemisphere. Gods speed Falcon hope you like it down under.

I first met Falcon when she was "Fal" in Neyland in 2006. Pictures on my site www.inspiration19.com under galleries "Neyland 2006"

Just a youngster then and she hasn't aged at all :)
I wonder where she is now. Heading down the west coast of Africa I expect.

I am reliably informed that Falcon has now arrived in Melbourne, though she is currently awaiting being X-rayed by the customs folk before she can be released into the wild ;)
Apparently it is the beginning of winter down there - pretty much the same as here then?

Having now gone through the various Australian import/quarantine procedures Falcon has been hitched up to her tow vehicle, a Land Rover Defender and is safely with her new owner 'down under'. I shall miss her

It is a classic combination, Land Rover Defender and Capecutter 19.

I will miss her as well (on Kielder Water). :(
