Seeking Firth of Forth / Firth of Clyde Cape Cutters

Postby Grant Franks » Sun Sep 28, 2014 7:58 pm

Hello,

I am considering buying a Cape Cutter 19, but so far this is only on the basis of what I have read on the internet. It sounds like it would be ideal my wife and me, plus 7 year old son - small and manageable, yet practical enough to sleep three.

We live in Edinburgh and would love to be able to view one nearby before taking things further and heading down to England to view one at Honnor Marine, or a second hand one for sale.

In know it is a lot to ask, but are there any owners in our neck of the woods who wouldn't mind us having a quick look at their boat?

We are also often across on the Isle of Bute if there are any on the Firth of Clyde, and will be at the boat show in Inverkip in a couple of weeks.

Thanks,

Grant

Hello Grant

It is only about 80miles from Edinburgh to Kielder Water, it could be a nice day out.

We currently have two CC19s on permanent moorings and a further three kept ashore, with a mixture of SA and Honnor Marine built boats. You will not get a better opportunity to get a hands on experience.

I expect at least two boats to be sailing this Sunday, Mary Ann and Falcon although there could be more. You would need to be quick though, as the season is coming to an end, Mary Ann has to be out of the water before 1st Nov.
Cheers

Dennis
