Well done Simon for setting up this forum.:)
It looks much more powerful than the Yahoo version.

Have I missed something? I could not find a link from the http://www.capecutter19.org homepage and consequently had to type in the whole URL.

Again, well done!

Hi Dennis

I will create a link to the forum this weekend from the rest of the site- the forum was the first thing I have got up and running.

Regards

Simon

Logging on

Postby Dennis » Mon Mar 30, 2009 11:55 am

Hello Simon

I notice that I have to log on each time that I visit the forum site. I have checked the box that says "Remember me on this computer". But I still have to log on each time.

Any ideas?

Hi Dennis

I think Internet Explorer is set not to save cookies in your profile. I think that you can change this in Tools-Internet Options. It may be unwise to reset this as some sites can download tracking cookies- hence the reason that IE is set not to save them.

It may be best to logon for each session.

I am going to create a PDF regarding how to create albums and publish pictures within the forum and provide a link to it on the forum page as when understood this is easy.

Regards

posting notification?

Postby David Hill » Tue Mar 31, 2009 12:10 pm

Hi,
until the forum gets well known and there is decent traffic, would it be worth considering notifying all the yahoo group members by email that a post has been made?

I, obviously, and posted a few questions, but for the moment Im' more likely to get multiple responses if I do it via the group.

Looks very good, by the way!!

Cheers,

David

Photo Albums

Postby Dennis » Thu Apr 30, 2009 7:02 pm

Hello Simon

Is there a way of re-ordering photos in an album?

I would like to group images in "Mary Ann Modifications" so that they make more sense.

Cheers

Pictures and Albums

Postby Simon Head » Fri May 01, 2009 3:35 pm

Hi Dennis

I know you can create new albums and move pictures around albums- is this what you want to do?

You can do this under your control panel.

Moving pictures around in albums

Postby Simon Head » Sun May 10, 2009 9:26 am

Hi Dennis

Have you managed to sort this out? It pretty straight forward. If you have not I have produced a document that could be published to show you how. It just needs tidying up.

I have been looking at this in a lot of detail through admin etc and have found a number of other interesting things...

Each user can have a maximum of 2 public albums and post a maximum of 50 pictures. This is the default setting.

You can have a number of other albums but are only acccesible from reviewing your public profile- even if you make these albums "public".

Regards

Hello Simon

No I have not (yet) managed to re-arrange pictures within my albums. I can edit the captions, delete or add photos but not re-arrange the order in which they are presented!

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Cheers
