The class association is very excited to offer a second event for 2020, to complement the Solent rally in May with a summer event further north.

Cape Cutter owner and Kielder Yacht Club members, Adam and Matt Bridger are organising a long weekend, with something to offer any owner.

The out-line for the Rally is:

Friday 17th July: Boats arrive and self launch at Kielder Yacht Club in the beautiful and majestic Northumbrian hills

Saturday 18th: Free cruising on the lake and BBQ at the club.

Sunday 19th: Race day with prize giving and dinner at the Boat Inn Restaurant at Leaplish on Kielder Water.

Monday 20th: Recover boats and head home.

Northumbrian Water have agreed to waive Launching and permit fees for our visitors.
A warm welcome is guaranteed. As always, plenty of help is available for rigging, launching and recovering boats.

Hello Charles,

I will try to get there with Ladybird and crew, work leave permitting.
Just to confirm it is July you are planning as the topic says August 2020

Hi Andrew- yes July; is the first weekend of the school holidays. I’ll try to change the title to show the correct month. I’m afraid I won’t be able to participate in this event, sadly.

Hello all

I would have loved to join the Kielder Rally. But I have booked a family holiday in Cornwall ending 17 July. It is not realistic to think I can get to Kielder from Oxford towing Rondo in time to be rigged and launched on 18thp. So as the formal rally is just the weekend I will have to give it a miss. Sorry

But my following week is free and if any members are likely to stay on for a day or two I would be interested in coming up to Kielder to join them for some cruising.

All the best

Malcolm

It clashes with a vintage motorcycle run, but if the weather is good then you may just get a Lune Whammel drifting by to say hello ;) It'll not be racing though

Wadudu plans on being there.

Malcolm, From Oxford you have a bit of a head start on me, but we both have a fair way to go. To make the trip really worthwhile, I will probably stay on for a few extra days - weather permitting...
