Torqeedo outboard

Hi has anyone used a torqeedo with their cape cutter probably the 1003 cs or 1103 cs, I was wondering if they were a reasonable alternative the current tohatsu 4hp i have, and whether an electric would be powerful enough. Thanks Matt.

It depends on your situation. When I bought my boat, it had spent its time on Rutland water and an electric motor was all the was needed to get back on mooring. When I last looked at it, electric outboards, though highly desirable had not reached the cost/power breakpoint and so I stuck to my Honda 4-stroke. I’ve never seen an electric motor fitted to a Cc

There is a lot of torqueedo info on the swallow yachts forum, home of the Bay Raiders.

These much lighter boats seem better suited to electric motors, but still struggle with punch in windy/strong tides.
Range/duration is still an issue too.

The latest developments seem to be a move to E propulsion brand motors.

Try this

Then do a search.

Personally, I think a torqueedo on a CC would struggle, both in terms of punch, and duration/range.

Hello Matthew

Do a search for "Torqeedo" and you will find about Black Sheep's experiences.
Cheers
