Hi David,
David Hill wrote:Hi,
for the ones who have been before - how much sailing time is there each day? OK, I realise its a 'how long is a piece of string' type question but assuming there is a decent breeze and assuming one doesn't detour, are the daily legs a couple of hours long or 6/7 hours long?

My wife is asking, and if we do it there are likely to be 5 aboard, so short sails to destinations plus potentially a potter for those of us keener might be feasible.

It is a week that has attracted me for some time, so it could be the year.

David

just a quick reply, as I have to be off...

It is about 3 to max. 6 hours sailing a day, averaging about 13-14 nm a day (10 to max. 20).

Wherever you arrive there is a place for those less keen to grab a crepe, beer or wine (sometimes even free) and plenty of scope for pottering for those who want to.

See you there
Happy Sailing

Is it too early to ask who's going to this in 2013?

never too early to plan ahead.

Bar any unforeseen events, I will certainly be at next year's Semaine du Golfe.

See you all there in force.

I really wanted to do the last one, but will do whatever I can for 2013 - even if I come short handed.

I've just put my name down for this in May. My father says he'll come with me.

Semaine du Golfe de Morbihan

Post by seasickwhale »

Hi everyone,

let me ring the bell again for the "Semaine du Golfe". This is a meet not to be missed. I will be taking part for the 6th time out of 7 possible. There is a lot of fun sailing, food, drink, music and friendship everywhere.

For more impressions on what to expect, see
http://www.semainedugolfe.com/

or my album

@Russell - looking forward to meeting you there - hope there will be more of us.

So to all of you CC19s - come out in force and enjoy a weeks sailing in one of the best cruising grounds you could possibly ask for.

If you want to register - Russell and myself are in flotilla 7 (or 7bis) which is "SMALL CLASSIC YACHTS" or in French "PLAISANCE CLASSIQUE DE MOINS DE 8 M" - make sure you join the same flotilla if you want to meet, because the itiineraries of the flotillas are such that different flotillas do not meet as they are in different ports every night. Should you be automatically placed in another flotilla (as it happened to me) write an e-mail to annemorice@semainedugolfe.com asking for the flotilla of your choice - Anne will take care of things.
Happy Sailing

I have a friend who runs a specialist ferry booking business for the motorsport sector, and he's looking at pricing for Portsmouth / Caen and Portsmouth / St Malo for me. I'll book mine in January with a £25 deposit and the balance 6 weeks before travel, so that would be mid March.

Is there anyone else interested in this, as we could get an even better deal if we were a group?

Stephan - Do you have a date yet when you will arrive at Arradon?
