Cockpit Cover

I am thinking to have a cockpit cover made, that I can put in place as I leave the boat when on a mooring. Vedette already has the hooks under the rubbing strake - so it looks straightforward. Anyone any experience of cockpit covers (good or bad ) ?

Hello, Malc.
If it's top quality you're after I would suggest Canvasman of Otley.

They made the cockpit cover and tent/cuddy for my Lune Whammel. Their work is nothing short of perfection, but it comes at a price. I got a quote for an overall travelling cover for the boat last year ---- 800 quid  I'm sure it would have been superb but I have a collection of vintage/classic motorcycles to maintain too

Steve (wot has too many irons in too many fires!)

Steve
many thanks for the feedback - I will check them out.. The attraction for me of a local maker is they can come and measure my boat and we can discuss face to face . But it will be very useful to explore an option and who knows
Regards Malcolm

I have an over boom cover that I have used, but it came loose in bad weather. Great care fitting is needed each time and careful maintenance of the bungee. The weather exacts a toll on such gear. A cover is a very good idea for a boat on a mooring
