Small Craft Advisor – July edition
US magazine, Small Craft Advisor, carried two Cape Cutter 19 articles in it’s July 2012 issue. We’re a bit slow at finding out about these things, hence only being able to report it now, but the magazine is available to download for a few dollars, and well worth it. The Cape Cutter 19 has turned out to be the perfect boat for our family, although it took us some time to discover it. We’d met someone with a Drascombe longboat, who took us for a sail in it. We were immediately struck by shallow draught, stability and large amount of space (especially compared to […]
Design and Stability
The Cape Cutter 19 design originates from the classic old gaff cutter work boats and successfully combines old world charm with advancements in construction, performance and comfort. History
The Cape Cutter 19 was developed by Nick & Lyndsay Voorhoeve. Their mission was to provide an outstanding classic yacht for sailing pleasure. Their love of traditional boats developed in the Caribbean where they purchased and renovated a Dudley Dix designed Shearwater excursion schooner for day sailing. Impressed by her good looks and sailing ability, Nick and Lyndsay contacted Dudley on their […]

Fifteen years ago we acquired a new neighbour who had a Hunter Medina and took me sailing in it. He quickly changed that for a Drascombe Coaster, in which […]
The Cape Cutter 19 Association
The Cape Cutter 19 Association was formed by a group of enthusiasts dedicated to this great little yacht. The design of the Cape Cutter 19 is based on a traditional hull form which has been proved over a very long period of time to be sea kindly and rugged.
The Cape Cutter 19 can be tuned up or down depending on the owners requirement. It has proven to be a fast, capable, brave pocket cruising yacht.
This site is designed to act as a resource for both owners, potential owners and anyone interested in the Cape Cutter 19. ANYONE is welcome to join the Association!
